Over 60's exercise

Emma Overson is dedicated to promoting exercise in older people and runs an over 60's exercise class on Wednesdays here at The Faringdon Clinic. They will run in blocks of 6 weeks.

This is a seated or standing class aimed at people aged 60+, people who do not generally exercise, who may be recovering from illness, injury or surgery, or people who have lost confidence in exercising. It is also suitable for people who have other co-existing health problems.

The aims of the class are to help improve and / or maintain: mobility & flexibility, strength & stamina, balance, confidence with movement & exercise, posture, relaxation, breathing control, promote physical activity in older people, and falls prevention.

Emma is currently running two classes in Shrivenham every Tuesday as part of a NHS project with the local GP practice where patients, aged 75+, of Elm Tree Surgery are referred by their GP.

One of the comments in the participants' feedback was that they wished they could have started the class 10 years earlier, therefore, Emma wanted to make the Faringdon class for 60+.
