Kirsty Harris

Physiotherapist:

Kirsty qualified from The University of Huddersfield in 2005 from where she moved to South Wales to start her Physiotherapist career working within NHS hospitals, rotating between working on wards and within out-patients departments.

With a strong bias towards musculoskeletal physiotherapy, Kirsty specialised and progressed in this area through senior musculoskeletal physiotherapy posts before moving back over the border to join Royal Berkshire NHS Trust as an Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Practitioner. In this post, she worked closely with orthopaedic surgeons with a special interest in the upper limb to assess, treat and rehabilitate patients.

Kirsty continued to specialise into musculoskeletal physiotherapy and worked as a senior physiotherapist in the Ministry of Defence including residential rehabilitation, outpatient departments and multidisciplinary assessment clinics.

In addition to her NHS and MOD roles, Kirsty has also maintained a strong interest in acute sports injuries. She was the lead physiotherapist for her local rugby team and the under 16s regional academy squad providing pitch-side cover and injury management to both teams in addition to working closely with coaching staff to recognise injury trends and alter training practices to prevent injuries. These roles developed both her interest and expertise in managing sports injuries.

Kirsty also offers post graduate skills in acupuncture and Kinesiology Taping and Pilates.
