Alice has been practising Iyengar® Yoga since 1997. Throughout her life she has always lead an active, outdoor life and wanted to find a discipline which would help maintain a full range physical movement and mental well-being.
The Iyengar method of yoga has fascinated Alice since she was first introduced to it. Iyengar Yoga has been described as meditation in action: practising the yoga postures (Asanas) with awareness and precision has an integrating effect on mind and body. Props may be used to improve understanding of poses or to help students practise in a way that is beneficial to each individual. No two yoga classes are the same.
Alice embarked on teacher training in Spring 2015 when her family commitments were less.
She still attends a weekly teachers’ class with a Senior Iyengar Yoga teacher and enhances her knowledge by attending workshops periodically with other Senior teachers from around the UK or visiting teachers from India, Europe or elsewhere.
Training: Introductory Level 1 and 2 taken and passed in 2017. Currently undertaking ongoing training working towards Junior Intermediate 1
